Fide Et Fortitudine
by H. D. McKerchar-Crysdale

The bonnie Scottish Highlands
Is where I long to be,
To dance and sing amongst the heather
I know it's there, my heart reigns free.

To roll amongst my namesake,
To pretend that I am wee,
Yet also a fierce warrior
Where my clansmen once ran free.

I want to wrap myself up in my tartan
And run flying through the hills,
To dream of auld days gone by,
Though in my heart never will.

Fide et Fortitudine
Enscripted boldly across my back,
Along with a dark red rampant lion,
My Scottish pride shall never lack.
