Mini Biographies of Scots and Scots Descendants (T)
Taylor, Hannah

Email: herthull@netconnect.com.au

My Gt.GT. Grandmother Hannah TAYLOR married in 1829 Robert HORSFIELD in Beverley E. Yorks. On census returns her birth place is Scotland. By a long process of elimination and family legend, she was probably the Hannah born in Alloa Dec 20th 1812 dau of James & Mary GALLOWAY (ref prof. researcher Rosemary Bigwood's, research) James of the glassworks (have details of the works). Family went to Glasgow in the same trade before 1841 and I have details of her brothers, James & John.,on 1851 & 1881 census - Milton ward. Hannah probably a dom servant before she married Robert. No trace yet of the father James, am gradually searching the 1841 census of Glasgow and burials (not during civil reg). I have no proof that this is my Hannah but have her on my documents as "possible".

I was born in Hull and emigrated in 1978. and am a retired prof. genealogist specialising in obtaining documents for Aussies, from England & Scotland. My husband is of Irish/Eng. descent.
Best wishes Delphine McDonnell
