Donna's Poems
Who Put the A in Activist

What is all this speel about women activists?
I think it is a joke created “in the wrist.”
Here we go lauding all that protest
When women are still on the bottom at best.
They have earned the right to be mistreated
In office, workplace, trade, shop, hospital greeted.

I watched my daughter work three jobs,
Tutor, student, dirt machine shops
Stop to have a baby tired and disoriented
Her own gender asks so rude and bent
“DO YOU WORK?”
Instead of, “Are you insured for this stork?”

Women no different than men,
As they come to power and when,
Their treatment of their own
Gives them the whole of the bone.
