Nathan Lowell

I only came across this author by pure chance and I've thoroughly enjoyed the four books I've read to date and look forward to reading the new ones that are in production.

His first series is Quarter Share, Half Share and Full Share.  This series follows a young man of 18 years when due to the death of his mother is forced to find employment on a merchant space ship as the only way to get off the planet he is living on. We then follow his adventures aboard ship  This is really the first book I've read where there are no wars or battles. It's just a story of a young man achieving remarkable success in his chosen profession.

The other book is Ravenwood. This is about a women in her 40's who for the past 20 years or so has travelled the world staying with women who are experts in the use of herbs for various uses. As she learns their lore she then walks onto the next contact and so learns a lot of useful information. She then ends up in a very small village where she helps an ill woman and is persuaded to stay to help them over the winter months. It appears she is maturing in her skills and talents and finds she now has communication with a Raven.  It's an unusual book but one I've enjoyed.
