The Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library Family Tree
The Family Tree - December/January 2004
There's a "Miracle in the Making" for The Family Tree!

The Family Tree is the award-winning publication of The Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library in Moultrie.  It is the largest genealogical publication in the world and, at the same time, it is the largest Scottish publication in the world outside Scotland.

Next September, an event is planned that will significantly assist the publication financially and provide an opportunity for friends to enjoy a week aboard a brand new Carnival Cruise Line ship!

Representatives from Carnival Cruises came to Moultrie to present the idea of a cruise from New York to "New Scotland" (Nova Scotia, Canada) next September 18-25.

Not only will the participants enjoy visiting Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine in the United States;  they will visit Sydney and Halifax Nova Scotia!  Special events are being planned in the Canadian ports as well.

The cruise will feature presentations and talks by The Family Tree editor-in-chief, Beth Gay; presentations by author and talk show host, Ludlow Porch; entertainment and presentations by premier Scottish entertainer, Colin Grant-Adams; presentations by Alastair McIntyre from electricscotland.com and talks on both interesting Scottish books and the Scottish poet, Robert Burns by Frank Shaw.

If you would like a brochure with full details, just visit the library in Moultrie and ask at the front desk or the genealogy library...or see Beth Gay.  There are only 100 rooms available for the group, so you are urged to register early.  If you'd like a brochure by mail, call 229-985-6540 and ask for Beth.

If you'd like to see full information on the Internet, visit electricscotland.com and click on The Family Tree.

If you would like to ask questions of the travel agent, contact Judy Thompson at 404-869-2814.  You may also email judyprt@att.net
