list and seeking funds for the purpose of achieving the
original goal of creating a memorial to the Ballinafad
pioneer community by preserving the house at Fallbrook also
known as the old ‘McClure/McKay Farm'. We believe
we have made significant progress toward that end.
Heritage Committee has recommended to the council that
the original house be considered for designation. Council
approved the designation in their first reading but a second
reading awaits more response from the community – hence this

of Fallbrook meeting on April 30th a new executive was
formed, Chair ... Bill McKay, Secretary ... Mary McKay,
Treasurer ... Lloyd McIntyre, Director .... Kate Murray.

incorporating under the name North Halton Celtic Heritage
Society. The reason for a change in name is that the
original application using the name of Fallbrook was deemed
too narrow in focus.
