Donna's Poems
by Donna Flood

We must all keep a sense of humor
In this world of chaos and more.

A "for instance" is of this morning blahs,
Governed by necessities early rising laws.

Why and what was this to strike me as funny,
A piece of toast resting on coffee cup so sunny.

"How sweet."  I'm thinking of Hubbies act,
"He's trying to make up for my early lack."

Why was I struck with the giggles, uncontrolled
When I picked up the toast and there so bold.

Was last night's coffee cup I had left out,
Rather than one clean and stout.

I realized at morning he was as unseeing as I,
What made it worse, laughed 'til I cry.
