Native Indian Lore
by Donna Flood

These recordings of Lore are of the Ponca tribe, as to my clan. This is my tribe and is the way I was raised. My mother and her mother before her were knowledgeable about their culture.  Since grandmother was of the He-Sah-Dah, rain band, these things I know go to that clan. Other clans will have their own ways.  These I do not know, which is okay, because they may not know our ways either. Time and unforeseen circumstances befall us all.

I would like to invite any of the Ponca Tribe specifically to use this form if you have any comments to make such as where I might be missing information, have made an error on some point or indeed if you would like to see any additional information added.  Do also feel free to contribute information that you may have yourself and I can add this for you. At the end of the day it would be good if we can ensure quality information is available for future generations to learn from.
